Vetranio legend, portrait erroneously Constantius II; 350 AD, Siscia, Centenionalis, 4.66g. Cf. RIC-285 (S), officina =4 of Vetranio, here incorrectly showing a portrait of Constantius II (RIC-284). Obv: D N VETRAIO P F AVG Bust of Constantius II r., unbearded, pearl-diademed, draped, cuirassed r., seen from front; star before portrait, A behind. Rx: CONCORDI[A]MILITVM Emperor standing l., with star above his head, holding two standards topped by Chi Rho banners, .SIS. in exergue, A in l. field. By mistake, the legend of Vetranio was here engraved around a portrait of Constantius II: this unbearded and pearl-diademed portrait cannot depict Vetranio, who was otherwise always bearded and laureate in this issue.
